Services Provided: Topographic Survey, R/W Engineering, & Roadway Design
Uniqueness: The Indiana Chapter of the American Concrete Pavement Association awarded PCS Engineers the “Excellence in Concrete Pavement Award” in the category“Municipal Streets & Intersections, Greater than 30,000 Square Yards” for their design of this project. Awarded on March 24, 2009.
Description of Project: This project includes the design of the reconstructed 56th Street from a two lane rural pavement section to a four lane (12 foot) curbed urban section with median. A topographic/route and right of way survey and design was performed for the new road alignment, along with all right of way engineering plan development, legal descriptions and plats for this project, which included in excess of 13 parcels. The alignment was approximately 6,000 feet in length, including all S-lines. The survey complied with the INDOT Survey Procedures Manual and all right of way engineering complied with the INDOT Right of Way Procedures Manual for Land Acquisition. Also, the design complied with all INDOT standards and procedures. The estimated construction cost for this project was $6,000,000. Key Staff: Jeff Mahan, Grant Niemeyer.
