US 31 Hamilton County Freeway - Grand Project Award Recipient

PCS Engineers is proud to be one of the recipients of the "ACEC Indiana 2017 Engineering Excellence Awards Competition Grand Project Award for US31 Hamilton County Freeway."

PCS was tasked with the Location Control Route Survey for the entire project from the interchange of Interstate 465 with US 31 northward to the intersection of 216th Street and US 31, which lies approximately one mile north of the intersection of State Road 38 and US 31. This also included creating or re-creating alignments for the “S-Lines”, or the roads crossing or intersecting US 31.

PCS was tasked with picking up “ground survey” for areas that were obscured from view during the aerial photogrammetry used for the topographic portion of the survey. This task also included running a conventional level circuit along the entire route from known and published benchmarks in order to provide temporary bench marks along the entire corridor. This task also included verifying and/or locating sanitary sewer and storm sewer structures along the entire project

PCS was tasked and teamed with TBE Utility Location Company for the field location of utilities during the course of the survey.

PCS was tasked with the survey and bridge ordinates for the 146th Street bridge over US 31.

PCS also assisted with the sign inventory along the entire project.
